Hermann Park’s Miller Outdoor Theatre offers an eight-month season of professional entertainment that is artistically good, culturally diverse, and always FREE to the public. It is the only venue of its kind in the United States. This is the country’s most prominent “always free” program. Miller Outdoor Theatre’s season of professional entertainment is the most variety of any Houston performance venue, and it’s all FREE! Jeanette Clift George, an actor and playwright formed A.D. Players in 1967, a professional resident theatrical company. Houston’s Jeannette and L.M. George Theater at 5420 Westheimer Road (known as The George) became the company’s new home in January 2017. At the heart of A.D. Players’ mission is the belief that human dignity, creativity, and education are all essential components of a well-rounded theatrical experience. There are five main stage productions a year, a National Touring Unit, and an Arts Academy open all year round. –
