The familiar red bicycles seen all over town have made an appearance at the Texas Medical Center. The Texas Medical Center contributed $250,000 in collaboration with Houston Bike Share to add more than 12 new stations to the campus.
Users can borrow a bicycle from any station in the network and return it to any other depot in the network. One-time customers pay $3 for 30 minutes of use, but members can use the bikes for $9 per month or $99 per year. “We are overjoyed that Houston BCycle is expanding into the Texas Medical Center,” said Beth Martin, chief executive of Houston Bike Share, the charitable organization that runs the BCycle bike share program.
